Basic Grey Lemonade + Happy Birthday

I am doing quite a few birthday cards at the moment - I am ALWAYS caught out when a birthday happens and I don't have a card ready. I am good under pressure but sometimes I really don't feel like making one on the spot. I'm never really happy with spur of the moment cards.

Anyway today's card is using Basic Grey's Lemonade 6x6 paper pad. I really wish more stores would stock the paper pads. They are such great value for the cardmaker - I waste so much from the 12x12 papers and the best thing about the paper pads is that they are reduced in size so you get all of the pattern on a small bit of paper. Love love love them.

Think Pink Kit

I printed out this piece of paper from Pink Petticoat's free "Think Pink" kit. The animal is a chipboard piece that I coated in white paint and sprinkled with white glitter. I am not really sure what that animal is to be honest. A rabbit? A snail??? What on earth is it? I thought it was cute regardless. :-)

Make A Wish

I think this butterfly is from a Maya Road 12x12 sheet - it is a sort of plastic-like material. I have decorated it with platinum Distress Stickles in the centres of the flowers on the patterned paper as well as the butterfly. As you can see, I have used my lovely new Cuttlebug on this one as well - Argyle, I think this folder is called. These embossing folders give such a muted finish to each card. I am yet to break out the Swiss Dot embossing folder but it is soon to come I am sure!

For You - June Bug

The June Bug series continues. I made this card with my new Cuttlebug - Diamonds in the Rough Embossing folder. I like the randomness of this print. :-) The sentiment is another by Hero Arts and I decided to highlight some of the "diamonds" on the cardbase for added interest.

I had a few new products arrive today - I got a WRMK Corner Chomper from the States (much cheaper inc. postage!) as well as a couple of Hero Arts stamp sets. I have been wanting to get some dedicated sentiment stamps, so chose a set of "Happy Birthday" sentiments and "Thank You" sentiments. They are guaranteed to get a lot of use!
Have a great weekend!

Chocolate Box

No, I didn't splurge on a box of choccies. :-) I actually entered a giveaway on another cardmakers blog and won a lovely pack of Core'dinations Chocolate Box Cardstock! It is chocolate brown coloured cardstock with Core'dinations signature coloured centres.

Steph, the blog owner, runs blog giveaways regularly and offers them worldwide (she is in the UK) so I thought I would link you all up in case you want to get in on the action! Here is Steph's blog - Stamping and Sharing.

Cuttlebug Love

Yes, I FINALLY bought myself one - a Cuttlebug. I was never really interested in one of these until the Swiss Dot folder came out and I realised I could make my own in any cardstock colour I wanted (I am a big big big swiss dot fan!). So, seeing as it was recently my birthday, I figured it was a good chance to get myself one and a few folders to go with it.

I made a card last night with the Diamonds in the Rough embossing folder. I will upload it when I get a hold of the camera - my husband stole it to take fishing with him today. :-)

Pink Petticoat Think Pink Kit

I am a fan of the Pink Petticoat digital stamps and papers (although I am yet to actually make anything with them!) and at the moment of the Pink Petticoat blog there is a free kit called Think Pink which includes paper designs, images and sentiments. They are beautiful designs and could be used for more purposes then the intended - for example, check out the beautiful damask design papers.

On the left side of the page there is also a few other free products available as well. Go check it out! :-)

June Bug + Hero Arts = slight addiction

Just a little more Basic Grey June Bug today. I really like these colours and I think the brightness of it allows for a simpler style of card. So again, not over doing it with this one and more Hero Arts stamps as well. :-) These stamps are in the clear design range called "Circular Designs". Quite a handy set to have when you want to add something extra to your card.

Sweet Baby

I became an Aunty for the first time about a week and a half ago! Yay - my kids finally have a cousin! lol

Anyway, I am going to get some baby cuddles tomorrow and was yet to make a card, so pulled this one together tonight with Basic Grey's June Bug collection and some Hero Arts stamps. I think this is rather Kristina Werner inspired now that I look at it.

Xmas in July Roundup

Please give me a pat on the back for completing a 5-week challenge. I did everything which amazes me, although I was down to the wire on a couple of the challenges at one point.

Here is the final card for the challenge - no xmas products on a xmas card.

K&Co Seaglass Die Cut Paper, KI Memories Bloom papers and rub ons, White Signo Pen, White Satin Ribbon, Marvy Scalloped Rectangle Punch, Scenic Route Rub on.

The sentiment reads "Smile" and then the inside of the card says, "it's Christmas!"

I ended up winning the Recipe Folder I have been coveting for at least 12 months I think! Can't wait to get a hold of it (I may actually give it a hug....).
